Father Of The Bride

By Jennie Crawford Is your daughter getting married? It is such a stressful time in the life of both father and daughter. For the father, he is symbolically giving up the responsibility of his daughter and passing that on to another man. He is putting his trust in that man to take care of his daughter as he would. In todays society, that notion is somewhat outdated. Women are quite capable of taking care of themselves, thank you. But the idea of passing your daughter on to her husband is something that emotionally still resonates in most men. It is difficult for many men to so this. Their little girl is all grown up. She is becoming someones wife and is no longer just his daughter. It can be a very emotional experience for a man. And giving the traditional speech at the wedding can be a nerve racking experience. A father has many things to say at such an occasion. But the process of writing the speech can be overwhelming with all the other wedding preparations going on. It can be hard for a father to find the time to plan out exactly what he wishes to say. Some men are also in denial that their little girl is all grown up and cant really get their minds around the fact that she really is getting married. It can be a difficult thing to write down something appropriate. Its also difficult to write a speech to be given at your daughters wedding that wont make you extremely emotional. Most dads don not want to cry in front of a couple hundred of their closest friends. Crying in public is something that most men prefer NOT to do under any circumstances. So how to prepare for the toast? I recommend writing the speech out beforehand. Dont think that you will be able to throw something together at the last minute. You may be able to come up with something, but its doubtful that it will be very inspirational or personal. Or it will be too personal and youll spend the time blubbering. If you take the time plan what you want to say and even practice it, you can give a father of the bride speech that you and your daughter will be proud of and remember for years to come. Fast Cash Payday Loans

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Thomas_Morva]Thomas Morva As the name suggests, fast cash payday loans are small, short-term, unsecured loans that are available immediately and repaid on your next payday. These loans are taken for personal purposes and do not require any collateral or security deposits. The tremendous growth in consumer spending has made these loans increasingly popular. People are living beyond their means, with little or no savings. Consequently, cash loans are among the most common resources to solve urgent financial situations. Generally, the cash lenders do not do a credit check, because as a guarantee of repayment, the borrower is required to sign a post-dated check that is kept until the repayment date. The check holds the original loan principal and additional financial charges. The maturity date corresponds to the next payday of the borrower. Once the initial conditions are checked and the requirements are satisfied, the money is obtained directly from the lender or transferred electronically into the persons account. The borrower can also apply online and have the cash within hours. This online method is an ideal solution for those who need cash and have no other options until the next paycheck. The first step for online processing is to select a company with payday cash options on the Internet. The application form can be filled out and submitted online with all relevant details in order to speed up the process. Requirements include a bank account statement and paycheck details are needed. Money is transferred to your account electronically. You can also make use of this online facility to pay back the amount, along with additional charges. Rejection – Rejection Hurts – Turn It Around Now

By Mimi Tanner Rejection is one of the worst experiences anyone can go through. The pain of rejection is not quickly forgotten – but is it hopeless? I asked an expert on relationships, Marius Panzarella, to provide the man’s point of view. But first, a warning: Marius understands what causes relationships to break down, and he has helped tens of thousands of readers. But Marius does not coddle anyone. So if you want a shoulder to cry on regarding the breakup, or you want to obsess over it, Marius is not going to allow you to waste your time like that. He cuts to the chase. I asked him to provide some breakup advice – tips about what to do and what NOT to do when a relationship is heading down that slippery slope. His advice applies to both men and women. Marius tells us that when it comes to breakups, focus first on what NOT to do. “If you’re trying to get an ex back,” says Marius, “here are the ‘don’ts’:” 1) Do NOT fight with him. Fighting ALWAYS creates tension and kills attraction. Fighting with an ex is useless. Even if you win the argument, you will still lose the war. 2) Do NOT try to use logic to “convince” him to stay or come back to you. Love is based on FEELINGS, not logic. No matter how brilliant your logic is, he’s still going to leave you. 3) Do NOT reassure your ex that you have “changed” or that things will be “different from now on.” It’s like trying to bail water out of a sinking boat. It won’t work. The hole will still be there. 4) Do NOT keep telling him that you love him. He doesn’t care. All he cares about is how much HE loves YOU…not the other way around! 5) Do NOT beg him to come back. The more you beg, the more you will push him away. 6) Do NOT try to make him feel guilty about leaving you. (Examples: “I can’t live without you.” and “Don’t break up with me during my exam period…”) It won’t work. It will only make him DREAD being with you even more. 7) Do not act depressed to make him feel bad for you. Sympathy does NOT equal ATTRACTION! 8) Do NOT talk to his friends to win their support. All he cares is how HE feels about you. Even if his friends love you, they can’t make him love you forever. External pressure never lasts for long. If your man decides to stay with you, his motivation has to come from WITHIN. 9) Do NOT cry in front of him. While he may hug you, he will be proud that he has so much power over you…and move on to another woman. 10) Do NOT push him into getting back with you. The more you push, the more he will PULL AWAY. “These are the most common mistakes people make during a breakup,” says Marius. “Trust me, you don’t want to do ANY of these things. If you do, I can guarantee you your relationship will be doomed. You probably won’t even get a chance to kiss your sweetheart goodbye, let alone get that person back. I deal with dozens of breakup cases every week, so I KNOW what I am talking about!” Marius is the only author I know who actually spends literally hours every day answering emails from his readers personally. He says, “The good news is that most breakup cases are ‘reversible’.” For more advice from Marius Panzarella on how to save your relationship and turn a rejection around in your favor, see www.rejectioninfo.com – Marius tells you the truth about why a breakup REALLY happens – so don’t say I didn’t warn you! Popping the Balloon of Belief

By John Dennison Im really excited. I just got a bigger soapbox, and I wanted to invite the rest of you to get up here on it with me. You may remember I was recently talking about how beliefs are at the core of our conflicts, yet those beliefs are built upon less-than-complete information. What is known is not all there is theres always something more. Yet we try to explain what we think we know by constructing complex belief systems around them, and fight to defend them against those who believe another way. Our egos are so fragile that wed rather fight than consider that the foundations of our thought and society might be built upon shifting sands. Maybe this seems farfetched. But lets look at the Middle East. The interplay of beliefs give us a prime example. One set involves religion, where ideological descendants of a common ancestor have fought for centuries under the guise of righting a perceived assault upon their God. Each fights to eradicate the other side, and hopefully the differing beliefs they hold. Superimpose upon this age-old fight an internal Muslim war between sects, along with a regional struggle between clerics and secularists, and the complexities grow immense. But thats far from all. Lets also not forget that most in the area live deprived of what many believe are basic human rights, often repressed by brutal regimes that crush dissent to maintain power and the status quo. All this while their citizens are awakening to an inner call to explore their own potential, fueled by worldwide communications that show what others already enjoy. Many are crying out to end this. Some even resort to terrorism, further complicating the mix. Now add in geopolitical struggles for money and power which are impacted by the areas crucial location over large deposits of oil. This lifeblood fuels mankinds technological march into the future, and allows us to enjoy a standard of living not even dreamed of in centuries past. Instability of any kind triggers fears our way of life may be impaired or lost altogether. Whew, it makes me dizzy just thinking about it. Weve given the existing institutions of government and religion a chance, and look what theyve done with it. Theyve showed us the answer is not in diplomacy. And it certainly isnt in war. Or in greater religious fervor. Or in any of the tools at their disposal. So let me suggest another way. What if everyone asked themselves, Why do we believe this stuff anyway? It couldnt hurt to just consider the possibilities. What if people found a way to connect to God and find meaning without religions that inherently pitted them against each other, whether intended or not? Not to replace one religion with another, but to find an inner spirituality that didnt need the institutions or structure? Where we all knew and felt connected to our source, so that all religions could go quietly into the night? What if people accepted that others who were different could live among them, and that this diversity both honored and accentuated the best characteristics of each? And that diversity was accepted as a gift to better know themselves, rather than an irritant to be tolerated? What if there were no struggles to govern among groups or sects because each truly enjoyed the ability to be itself without having to worry about either defending its differences or imposing them on others? What if governments were not run by either despots or leaders that curried popular favor by castigating opponents and fomenting social discord? Rather, their peoples were guided by an inner force (not an outer one inflamed by religion or politics) that allowed them, and their leaders, to find the seeds of peace within every conflict? What if people everywhere knew and trusted that their needs would be met as they arose, and that they could explore meaningful pursuits without bumping up against the efforts of others? This may be a dream, but it is certainly one that is within our reach. You know it as well as I do. But to make it happen, we each have to first hold out a vision of what can be. And then to commit ourselves to make it happen. Sure, there will be many objections and roadblocks. Religious institutions and governments will fight hard against it. Fear will bring resistance and maybe even greater strife in the short run. Patience and persistent effort will be needed to see it through. But who says the best things come easy? Isnt it time we stopped leaving the evolution of humanity up to chance, or at least quit pretending its out of our hands? Were at a point now where people worldwide can share ideas and visions. So why not work toward those that go beyond predatory commerce, politics, and religion? Why not believe that which serves us and our ideals, and promotes the common good, rather than sows the seeds of conflict and destruction? If this is a world where people go to war over beliefs, isnt belief theres a better way worth fighting for? I sure think so. What about you? Copyright 2004 by John Dennison. Coin Collecting – My Beginners Guide To Error Coin Collecting

By John P. Shields As defined by the ANA, an error is a numismatic item that unintentionally varies from the norm. Ordinarily, overdates are not errors since they were done intentionally while other die-cutting mistakes are considered errors. Double dies, planchet clips, off-metal strikings, etc. also are errors. For everyday use, error variety coins are separated into major & minor errors. In general, a coin with a major error would be easily identified by eyeballing the coin. Minor errors tend to be virtually undetectable with the naked eye. Close scrutiny with a 15x magnifying glass reveals these errors. The appeal to collectors is 1) readily found in circulation, 2) premium value depending on error and coin condition and 3) enough research and fun to make it worth your while. There are many different error types can be found in circulation. Listed below are some of the common CONSEA terms of minor error coins acquired through general circulation (pocket change). – Bubble Plating these planchets have gases trapped between the core material and the plating – Die clash For the wheat cent, look under Lincoln’s chin for an upside down T of CENT on the obverse and between the E of ONE and the N of CENT for Lincoln’s tie on the reverse. For the Memorial cent, look for the vertical columns of the memorial building both in front of and behind Lincoln’s head, as well as for the horizontal building lines through the 1 of the date. (These have recently been promoted as prisoner cents because the clash makes Lincoln appear as if he were behind bars). On the reverse, look in the first three bays of the building for an incused and upside down RTY of LIBERTY. Also, often Lincoln’s head can be seen through the letters of ONE CENT. 1999-D 1c with clash marks. – Die Crack These coins exhibit raised irregular lines as a result of a crack in the die. – Die Scratches These are raised thin lines, usually on the fields of a struck coin (though they may occasionally be seen on the design), which are created by the abrading of a die. It is the pattern of the die scratches which makes them important. – Double Die If the working hub and working die with its initial image are not fitted together properly in the press, a doubled image occurs on the die. This doubled die will in turn transfer a doubled image to every coin it produces. – Rotated Die Coins are struck with coin alignment; that is, the top of one side is the bottom of the other side. If a die becomes loose in its holder or was installed with an incorrect alignment, it is said to have rotated. The greater the rotation over 15 degrees, the greater the value to collectors. – RPM These coins exhibit a mintmark that has at least a doubled image due to its being repunched. – Struck Through (1) Grease filled die. This coin exhibits weak or missing design elements due to the die being clogged with a combination of grease, dirt, and iron filings. There is a rough surface where the design element is missing. (2) String. This coin exhibits an incused thin line, usually in a wavy or circular pattern, from a piece of thread that curled up on the die or planchet. (3) Wire. This coin exhibits an incused thin line from a piece of wire or bristle from a wire brush that came between it and the die. A standard piece of equipment in a machine shop is a wire brush or file card that is used to clean the grooves of a file. The pressman periodically uses the brush to clean the press and the dies when they become clogged with grease and dirt. Falling bristles can find their way into the coining chamber and be struck into a coin. These often appear in a U shape and have been incorrectly called staples. Before spending the money on reference books, go to your public library and check out two numerous reference books on error type collecting. The Cherrypickers Guide To Rare Die Varieties The Official Price Guide To Mint Errors. The World Wide Web has many references for various error types. Do a search on error coin varieties and sit back while you sift through the myriad of returned references and links. On take the simple approach and go to the American Numismatic Association web site ana.com Authentication services are available to aid individuals having difficulties understanding or identifying any puzzling coins. As these services are not free, check with your local coin dealer first. Ready to get your feet wet? Pick through some pennies until you find a 1991p Lincoln cent. With a magnifying glass, look at the date. The digit one in 91 appears to be much shorter than the other digits in the date. Now find the same coin with the 1 that is the same length as the other digits. This error is said to be a result of a worn-die but the short digit specimen appears more far commonplace than the full size digit. For those looking for a little more challenge, assemble a type set of 1960 to 2000 Lincoln cents with reverse die cracks. Better yet, make that both p & d mints. You only need 77 specimens! A recent purchase of a cent roll yielded two coins with field die cracks and four others with design errors. To make things more interesting, another coin has an interesting but unidentified error. That is where the real fun begins. Poor Credit Auto Loans – Working with an Auto Loan Broker

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder While it is feasible to get an automobile loan with a poor credit rating, getting a good rate on your auto loan requires research. Many people are unfamiliar with the car buying process. Hence, they neglect to shop around for the best offer. Dealerships are able to detect new car buyers. Sometimes, they take advantage of these persons. If you are hoping to secure a good finance package on your next auto loan, consider working with an auto loan broker. What are Auto Loan Brokers? Auto loan brokers are individuals or companies that have access to various auto loan lenders. If you are looking for a bad credit loan, a broker is able to help you. Although good credit applicants may also obtain financing using a broker, auto brokers are very popular among individuals with poor credit. Why? For starters, people with poor credit have fewer finance options. Secondly, bad credit applicants are more susceptible to dealership tricks and schemes. Benefits of Using an Auto Loan Broker Auto loan brokers are advantageous for several reasons. If you are hoping to get the lowest rate possible on a car loan, it is important to shop around and compare offers. However, if you are eager to make a new car purchase, you may not have time to contact several lenders and request quotes. If using an auto loan broker, the company will do the contacting for you. Because brokers have dealings with many lenders, they are able to locate the best offer and terms for you. In fact, brokers are able to have responses within minutes. Simply complete and submit and online application or quote request. The broker will submit your application to several lenders. Hence, you are able to receive multiple offers. How to Locate a Good Auto Loan Broker? The internet is full of reputable auto loan brokers. If possible, select a well-known broker. Additionally, ask friends and family if they know of a good auto loan broker. Brokers will not review your credit report for a quote request. However, you must provide an accurate credit description on your request form. Once you review offers and choose a lender, submit an official loan application with the lender. Super Relationship Tips: Put Your Disagreements Into Perspective

By Virginia Bola, PsyD Even the most passionate and committed relationship has moments when the partners disagree. No two human beings ever see eye-to-eye on everything. Over time, we even disagree with ourselves because our outlook on the world changes as we grow and mature and age. In the beginning of a partnership, it seems, for a brief moment, that we have everything in common. We can’t initially believe that we have actually found someone who is so “simpatico.” We focus on the areas that we share, endlessly discussing mutual interests and tastes. Any areas of divergence are quickly skirted and pushed into the background as unimportant trivialities. As we live together for a longer period of time, our differences continue to surface and can no longer be totally ignored. Ask any couple to list some things their partner does that annoy them and several items are sure to appear. Sometimes our partner does things that are so irritating that we get angry and start arguing. We are socially programmed to be competitive so to try to win the argument, we marshal all the supporting evidence we can find. And because we are two different individuals, there will always be some support we can muster to prove our point. How often, in the middle of a spat, do we say “And another thing. . .” It has nothing to do with our current disagreement, but it’s trotted out to bolster our conviction that we are right and our partner is wrong. A good and fruitful argument is one that is focused on one topic and where some conclusion can be reached by both parties, even if only to agree to disagree. A destructive argument has no focus. It’s all over the place and involves so many aspects of our relationship that it can never be neatly resolved. When the defensiveness of us all steps in; when every pet peeve and perceived petty slight is poured onto the coals, a disconnect is born that may never be satisfactorily settled. To thwart that personal defensiveness and rancor, we need to step back and remind ourselves, and each other, about the values and activities we do share. We need to voice our devotion to each other that goes far beyond the few differences that separate us. In the middle of a full blown verbal fight, stating our love and appreciation of other aspects of our partner can diffuse the anger and pain and remind both of us of our priorities and our good fortune in finding a wonderful, long-sought partner (even if they are occasionally misguided) for the game of life. Saving For College – Your Number Two Priority

By Reecy Aresty In todays highly competitive college admissions process, families must never lose sight of the fact that nothing is more important to parent or child than the students acceptance to college. Your second priority is how to pay for it. Planning for college can begin as early as birth, and for that matter, even before birth. Financial planning in the early years can make all the difference in the world when it comes time to have to cough up all that cash! The following are some of the best ways to save for college: Custodial Accounts: With Uniform Gift or Uniform Transfer to Minors Act Accounts (UGMA or UTMA), parents, grandparents, etc. can each contribute up to $11,000 per student per year (2005). This money can be used for college or any other purpose. Although the money remains in the students name, the custodian, usually a parent, has absolute control over the account i.e. stocks, bonds, mutual funds, savings, etc. UGMA accounts accept cash only. UTMA accounts accept cash and property. The Downside: UGMA and UTMA accounts are irrevocable gifts that are considered student assets. Since students have no asset protection allowance, these assets are assessed at either 25% per year at schools that employ the institutional methodology, (Ivy League and high profile private colleges), or 35% per year at all the rest that employ the federal methodology! Therefore, this option must be used with extreme caution! Education IRAs a/k/a EIRAs: Single parents with an adjusted gross income (AGI) of up to $110,000, and joint filers with AGIs up to $190,000, can contribute up to $2,000 annually to an EIRA. Earnings accumulate tax-free and can be withdrawn tax-free without penalty to pay for a private elementary, secondary, or college education. The Downside: With the current limit of $2,000 (2005), fees can eat up much of the gains in the early years when balances are small. Contributions to EIRAs are not tax deductible and all colleges consider EIRAs student assets and apply the 25% or 35% assessment when calculating financial aid. Whats even worse is what happens when distributions are made from these accounts. Financial aid is automatically reduced dollar for dollar, because in addition to being an asset, the funds have now become a resource! When these funds are legally repositioned outside of the financial aid formulas, then none of the money is assessed! State Plans a/k/a 529 Plans: Anyone can open a 529 Plan in his or her own name and designate a student as the beneficiary. Up to $50,000 ($100,000 jointly) may be contributed over five years to a maximum of $246,000. Funds grow tax-free and withdrawals since 2002 have been tax-free as well. Downside: Monies contributed are not tax deductible, and there is little or no control over how the funds are invested. Also, there is a 10% penalty for withdrawals not used for college, and 529 Plans can actually decrease chances for a large grant or scholarship and thats not all. When there are distributions from these accounts, financial aid is automatically reduced dollar for dollar! As with EIRAs, having the funds legally repositioned elsewhere, will result in no assessment whatsoever! Retirement Plans: An IRA, HR10 (Keogh), Pension, SEP, 401(k), 403(b), 457 or any other qualified retirement plan should also be considered when saving for college. Such plans are not regarded as assets and are outside of the financial aid formulas. While the account value is not considered an asset, the annual contribution made is added back to the AGI for an income assessment! The big print giveth, but the small print taketh away! Non-Qualified Savings Plans: These are accounts strictly set up to provide funds to be used to pay for the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) or any unanticipated college costs. Families need to set up these accounts as early in the students life as possible, so there will be adequate money to pay such costs when the time comes. Remember, by the time students enter high school, consideration should be given to reducing high risk investments. Never gamble with money thats earmarked for education! And, never lose sight of the fact that all monies saved for college in the early years will not serve their purpose unless the student prepares for and successfully completes the admissions process… Reecy Aresty has been a financial advisor since 1977, and is founder and president of College Assistance, Inc., located in Boca Raton, Florida. He is the author of “How To Pay For College Without Going Broke,” an invaluable, critically acclaimed, parent/student manual, (updated from its previous edition, “Getting Into College And Paying for It!”). Arguably the most revealing book ever written on college admissions and financial aid, it is also the only book of its kind available in Spanish. For the past 28 years, Reecy has helped thousands of families send their kids to the college of their choice for less than they ever dreamed possible. Sedu Beauty Tips: The Dos and Donts of Hair Brushing

By Mary Anne Lionel Hair brush is one of the most essential tools every person, man or woman, should have. Hair brush helps dealing with tangles and bed hair look; to some extend it even solves the problem of hair styling. But the greatest thing that can be done with a hair brush is keeping our hair naturally moisturized as you transfer natural skin oil from the roots to the tips of the hair when brushing. To help your hair grow healthy and shiny, you should brush your hair every day with careful gentle strokes that decrease the friction and smooth the hair scales. Harsh and rough brushing will only increase the damage to your hair. Moreover, such brushing increases the amount of pulled out hairs in two times. The use of proper hair brush is essential for sedu hairstyles as it helps to avoid unnecessary damage, eliminates static electricity, and adds shine and smoothness to the hair. There are several hair brushes that should be at hand when creating and maintaining your sedu hairstyles: 1. Wide-toothed comb for detangling hair after and before washing. Every time you are preparing to wash your hair you should make a detangling first. This will help you lessen the risk of mechanical damage during washing and make the after-washing detangling easier, thus eliminating more mechanical damage. Such combs should be of antistatic material, so read labels carefully and make sure you wont harm your hair with poor quality product. 2. Fine-toothed tailed comb for styling. You should use this comb when making heat straightening using a flat iron. Just follow the flat iron with fine-toothed comb to make sure that there are no tangles and frizz left in your hair after straightening. The tail of the comb will be handy in creating prom hair styles and dividing hair in separate tresses for straightening; 3. Massaging wooden hair brush that will help you to massage scalp after you detangled the hair and are preparing to sleep. Usage of this brush at least twice a week will help you increase the blood circulation in the scalp and improve the state of the hair cuticle after a couple of months of usage; 4. Boar bristle round brush for styling. This hair brush is a must for short to medium hair styles. It helps to obtain neat and sleek hairstyle. Boar bristles eliminate frizz and add shine to your hair; 5. Ceramic styling hair brush is good for medium to long hair styles because it helps to manage long hair and eliminate static electricity. You will be even able to create soft waves that will frame your face and make it look gorgeous. The above mentioned hair combs and brushes should be of high quality so that your hair wont suffer from the harmful materials and faulty workmanship. It is also recommended to wash combs with warm water at least once in two months in order to eliminate product built up. To make correct brushing, follow these simple rules: 1. Before washing the hair, use a wide-toothed comb. If you have a long hair, start from the tips and move gently to the top of the hair. Do not pull the hair or comb too energetically, or you will lose healthy and mature hairs that hold firmly in your scalp. If your hair style is short just move brush through the hair from roots to the tips to eliminate frizz and arrange your hair before washing; 2. After washing DO NOT brush the hair while it is still wet. The hair should be at least dump when you start to detangle it, or you are sure to lose more healthy hairs. Do not be afraid to see hairs on the brush as long as you dont feel any pain from their pulling off. It is a natural process of hair growth when up to 100 hairs are falling out every day to spare the place for new and young hair. 3. If you are using blow dryer quite often, you should use round brushes of 100 per cent boar bristle for styling of the short hair, and ceramic round brushes for styling of the long hair. Such brushes will make it easier for you to style the hair, add shine to your hair, and help you to arrange the hair into any style from spikes to soft sedu waves. 4. If you are using a flat iron, you should start straightening from the bottom of the hair. Separate the bottom layer of the hair from the top layers, and pin up the top layers using tail of the fine-toothed comb. Straighten the bottom layer of the hair, and proceed with the upper layers until you are finished. Every time you apply flat iron to the separate tresses follow the flat iron with the comb to make sure that there are no tangles left. 5. Before going to bed, apply massaging brush. Detangle the hair first, and then gently brush the hair, especially the root area to improve blood circulation and allow your head to relax after the long day of styled hair. You will see positive results of such technique just after a couple of months. Your hair will look healthier and shinier, your scalp will receive more nourishment through improved blood circulation, and if you have problems with hair falling out, they will be diminished. So, hair brushing is the separate science, and knowledge of its rules will help you decrease the amount of money you spend on hair care products. Moreover, the state of your hair health will improve dramatically and your hairstyle will receive the status of the Sedu hairstyle because of the natural shine and smoothness of your hair. The Art of Breaking Up

By Ron Zvagelsky Infidelity, different goals, or meeting someone else are all reasons why people choose to break up. But for many people the process may not be that simple. Even if there is a fight and emotions run high, people may say words out of anger and then break up. Usually however, they may talk, reconcile, and try to work things out, only to have another outburst where they suddenly decide to call it quits again. The art of breaking up heavily rests upon the personalities of the people involved in the relationship. Sometimes, there is just no other way to end a relationship then to do so abruptly and as tactfully as possible. However, in some situations, there are many peaceable solutions to help a relationship dissolve calmly and with a friendship still in tact. However, if you ever feel that you may be threatened or that you partner may become violent or enraged if you break up, then it is important that you seek outside help. Let your close friends know that you are planning on breaking up with your partner and keep your support system close by. Sometimes, even the most docile people act in ways that wouldnt seem within the scope of their character when faced with the possibility of losing their loved one. If emotional or physical abuse was involved in the relationship then you need to get out of the situation immediately, no matter how strongly you feel that you may be in love. With that said, in other situations breaking up can be done in a way that both parties remain friends if they choose to. Never have someone else tell your partner for you. Break ups should be done respectfully and you should always respect your partner enough to explain to them the reason for the breakup. If you are determined that you should end the relationship, then you should think beforehand of what you are going to say, the reason for the break up, and try your best to consider the other persons feelings. Delivery of the message is important and a calm tone of voice can help make the transition smoother. Some people find that they can express things better in a letter. There is nothing wrong with writing down your thoughts and feelings and breaking up through a letter. With todays technology, many people are finding email a preferable tool to deliver a break up message. This is a matter of preference and may hinge upon the way you communicated throughout the relationship. If email was a vital form of communication, then it may be appropriate to discuss your break up this way. However, if you never sent an email back and forth, deciding to start with a Dear John letter, may in fact be very inappropriate. The key points to remember in any break up is to explain your position as clearly as possible. When you are sure that you need to end the relationship, stick to your guns. Some times the other party will try to make you feel guilty and manipulate you into remaining in the relationship. You know when its over. If you have decided that you need to move on with your life, then do so. Ron Zvagelsky has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California.
